Abstract

The concept of pluralism has come to the forefront of political debate in recent years, but many accounts of pluralism seem to be insufficient in their engagement with the popular. This paper presents two divergent forms of pluralism that engage with religion, marriage and love in North India to ask what is missed by focusing on political pluralism rather than its historical antecedents.
